Recently, Philippines’ esport giant TNC Predator has acquired a new talent under the name of Asta.

However, Philip “Asta” Torres’ arrival on the team drew some backlash after fans uncovered his supposed ‘scamming’ history.

Apparently, Torres sold his account, and later on retrieved it, leaving his buyer scammed. This drew some criticisms from fans, raising it as a concern to the team.

While TNC remained quiet earlier, the team, this time, released a statement regarding the issue.

TNC acknowledged the supposed allegation and told that the new TNC player has already paid the aggrieved party. This, including a public apology from the player itself.

The team supposedly talked to Asta in order to clarify the issue. The team then went straight to the involved parties.

On his social media, Asta apologized and told that he already compensated all victims monetarily.

In a Reddit thread, pieces of evidence were uncovered accusing the young player of being a scammer. Based on photos, the new TNC player was trading his account two years ago.

This is a complete violation based on Valve’s rules. To add more spice to the issue, evidence also shows that Asta did not only sell his account, but he also retrieved it, gaining back his access to the already sold account.

On August 16, TNC shocked fans by acquiring Asta who is set to play as a replacement for Yuri “Yowe” Pacaña. Asta’s pro history is with Atomic Esports and Neon Esports.
