A weird coincidence can potentially happen with PSG LGD qualifying for TI11 while facing relegation. First Division 2 team in TI?
After winning all of the regional tours in DPC China, many expects PSG LGD to qualify for TI11. With 1400 points in tow, they look to automatically qualify for the prestigious tournament.
However, their qualification can prove to be interesting, if they also manage to face relegation on the same season.
Looking at current standing, PSG LGD is now at the 6th position, barely holding on with one win over the bottom teams. They achieve this result after suffering defeats against Xtreme Gaming, Vici Gaming, and EHOME.
Now, their fate hinge on the remaining two matches, which will be difficult.
They will be facing RNG and Team Aster for the following matches, with both teams in form. RNG and Aster are currently sharing the joint first position, and look to qualify for the upcoming major.
If PSG LGD didn’t manage to earn a single win out of those two matches, they will be in a tiebreaker with either of bottom two team.
Since EHOME and DEC will face together in their last matches, either of them will be guaranteed a win as a result. They also still have a match against other teams, which makes things trickier for PSG.LGD to be able to stay up in Division 1.
Should PSG LGD face relegation for the next season, it will be interesting to see a Division 2 team competing in TI11.
