Topson Ignores Twitch Chat To “Remain Sane”

Although streaming is a viable platform to earn some living, it requires the hardest of mental fortitude sometimes. The average Twitch Chat experience revolves in two direction. First, emoticon spams by every viewers when something happens. Second, comments on the streamer’s gameplay, be it good or bad.

Topson, being a veteran streamer at this point, shares how he manages to navigate all those troubles while streaming on Twitch.

Topson have his opinion after reading question whether he reads his chat or not. At first, he says that he do read the chat on his stream. However, he claims that he ignores everybody except the “normal people”.

He also says that is his way of keeping his “mental” while streaming, implying the chat to be heavily toxic at times.

Topson also says that there are only “10 or more normal people” that watches his stream. He claims that the majority of his viewer are too weird for him, which is the excuse for him to not interact with his chat actively.

Although it seems to be offensive towards Twitch viewers, a closer inspection on a Twitch chat reveals the truth.

The majority of his chat seems to react when things happens, especially when he makes mistakes during the game. This seems to apply to all big streamers as well with many viewers, such as Gorgc, AdmiralBulldog, and Singsing.

Therefore, it’s not a rarity anymore to see big streamers reacting less to their chat after gaining a bigger audience.
