Huge question mark coming from ESL since they invited the almost relegated Alliance to ESL Malaysia! Incoming complaints from other teams?
Although they were struggling in the Division 1 of WEU DPC, Alliance unexpectedly gets an invite by ESL Malaysia. Alongside OG and Fnatic, Alliance will fight for the trophy at the Arena of Stars in Genting, Malaysia.
However, the inclusion of the struggling team does not impress fans as they think there are more deserving teams than them.
The tournament organizer announces Alliance’s inclusion via Twitter, and accordingly, have three teams competing for the trophy. Hence, ESL were excited to announce the team as they feel the struggling squad can potentially win the tournament.
That sentiment is unforunately not shared by many of Dota fans, and interestingly, Alliance’s own fans, due to many reasons.
One of the reason being Alliance’s own performance during the DPC Tour 3, since they are still struggling to gain a single win. All of their defeat results in 0-2, showing a lack of team synergy and drive to even gain a single point during the tournament.
However, it remains to be seen whether ESL Malaysia will revoke the invitation or not due to the unpopular respond.
Even professional players from NA DPC such as Sammyboy from Wildcard Gaming seems to be in disbelief. It is a popular sentiment that fans share which feels that Alliance did not deserve their invite at all.
There are also opinions whether ESL Malaysia should instead invite SEA teams rather than Alliance.
