Say goodbye to Zombs as Sentinels welcomes Kanpeki to the roster!

Valorant Sentinels

Sentinels, in a not-so-shocking decision, has signed  Eric “Kanpeki” Xu to replace Jared “Zombs” Gitlin.

The former top team has set its goals to reclaim the throne for 2022. This, following their disappointing performance in the final stretch of 2021, especially in the Valorant Champions.

One of the biggest disappointments for Sentinels is when they bid farewell to the NA Stage One group stage.

The said group stage started on February 11 where they were placed alongside Version1, OpTic, Knights, NRG, and Rise.

Despite securing a playoffs spot, the team struggled against The Guard. With this, the team faced a heartbreaking 2-0 which sent them to the lower bracket.

In their lower bracket match, the team faced their former groupmate. Despite getting ahead of them in the group stage, Sentinels was unable to shut them down, ending with a 2-1.

With this, Sentinels had bid farewell to their Masters Reykjavik journey. Following this, reports started to circulate speculating that Zombs was no longer practicing with the team.

On April 21, the team surprised the community by signing Kanpeki as Zombs’ replacement.

Kanpeki is a former player from Akrew where he managed to win more than 30 matches in a row. With this, the newbie will be taking over the flex role.
