Sudden rule changes by Dreamhack again, just like Alliance coaching scandal.
The DPC problem has re-emerged, and is now happening in the WEU region, which initially went smoothly. Apparently, Dreamhack suddenly announced that there would be tiebreakers for positions 1-2 and 3-4, even though they had already automatically qualified for the majors.
This made the players on these teams confused and annoyed, like Taiga and Skiter.
Through Twitter, Taiga explained that the changes in tiebreaker rules for the WEU DPC changed suddenly. Initially, they thought that OG’s position in rank 1 was certain, because of the “head to head” rule in the DPC WEU Tour 1. Apparently, this change occurred without the knowledge of the pro players.
From the tweet, many fans also supported him and questioned Dreamhack’s decision to suddenly change the rule.
Not only Taiga, Skiter also complained about this sudden rule change. They will play a tiebreaker against Team Liquid for third place in the WEU DPC later. This is no longer necessary, considering that 4 teams in the WEU DPC will automatically qualify for the Stockholm Major.
Given the Alliance’s “coaching scandal” that occurred due to Dreamhack’s decision, many players protested the tournament organizer’s decision.
