The format for 2022’s first major, the Stockholm Major, has finally been revealed, with similarities to The International 10.
The first major of 2022, which will be held in Sweden, is drawing near. ESL One, as the organizer of the major, has released the format for it. Fans are certainly looking forward to high-quality Dota games from the teams that will compete.
The Stockholm Major itself will take place from May 12, 2022 to May 22, 2022. Said event is located at the Hovet Arena, Stockholm.
As for the format, the group stage will run from 12 May 2022 to 17 May 2022. The playoffs will run from 18 May 2022 to 22 May 2022. It looks like only 2 days of the playoffs will be played at Hovet Arena, while the rest will likely be played online.
Many fans also praised the organizer’s decision to make this format similar to TI10.
One of the people who praised this decision was noxville, a statistician who is very active in the Dota 2 scene. He is grateful that the major format this time is not the same as last year’s major format which was very draining for some teams.
In fact, last year, he explained that Liquid and Vici gaming had to play 48 games combined.
