Last week, Blacklist International faced a humiliating defeat against ECHO Esports. Following the game, many questioned Blacklist’s draft during the match.

Regarding the questions, almost all of them were aimed toward the team’s coach, Bon Chan. The team’s coach responded through his official Facebook account saying the draft was not his.

The coach also added that his post was not directed toward his players.

Tracing back to their last week’s game, many were surprised with Hadji’s Yve pick. This, in relation to the team’s durable heroes to partner with his hero. Their draft ended up lacking in fire power.

With their poor survivability, ECHO’s KarlTzy was able to capitalize on this opening. This opportunity ended up with a 20-kill game between ECHO and Blacklist.

Bon Chan Clarifies Drafting ‘Drama’ Against ECHO

“If you noticed yesterday (During the match against ECHO), our comfort heroes were open but never picked. During that time, I was considering the feelings of the players who will use it,” Bon Chan told.

He also said that he allowed his players to take their own comfort heroes. However, he mentioned that he was shocked with the final draft which looked inferior against ECHO.

“I agreed on what they wanted to use, without knowing that it was going to end up with that lineup,” he explained.

Coach Bon Chan then clarified that the mess was his fault. This, followed after a ruckus was made regarding his frustrating social media posts.

“That’s where I’m annoyed, it can be avoided but I didn’t do anything,” he said. “We couldn’t afford to lose and we needed that one point, but I made a mistake and that’s what annoyed me,” he added.

Currently, Blacklist remains to struggle for a playoffs spot. Their chance for a comeback will depend on their match against Bren on April 2.
