Ceb, in a live stream, named names that he thinks are today’s best per region!
Sebastien “Ceb” Debs is a decorated pro who retired from the scene carrying two The International titles. His remarkable plays as an offlane etched his name in history, especially his legendary Axe which carried the team to one of its titles.
Through a Twitch stream, the two-time TI champ disclosed his favorite players in today’s scene. This followed as a response to a chat from his viewers.
Pertaining to carry players, Ceb revealed some names per region. As per WEU, the player was very clear that Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen is the best for WEU.
Meanwhile, PSG.LGD’s Wang “Ame” Chunyu was named the best for China. Going to EEU, Ceb was not able to share names as he says EEU carries are built differently compared to their counterparts from other regions.
“In CIS, it’s gotta be between…I mean, CIS carries are very strong. Probably, on average, the CIS carry level is much higher. I think watson (HellRaisers), V-Tune (NAVI), Yatoro (Spirit). These three are really good in my opinion. Maybe Yatoro and V-Tune, a bit higher. I mean, Daxak is also really good. Pure (Virtus.pro) is really good. I mean CIS carry talent is really crazy,” he said.
For SEA and SA, however, Ceb was not able to give any name as he says he was unfamiliar with them. Despite this, he was still able to name Héctor Antonio “K1” Rodríguez of beastcoast as a ‘legend’.
NA? I mean, NA is like – NA is NA so (laughs), I don’t know. I’ll go with Scourge McDuck (The Cut). I mean, I don’t know. NA has like – maybe Arteezy? Arteezy (EG) or Timado (TSM),” he sarcastically said.
Similar to the carry players, Ceb did not give any name from OG for the mid position. For Sebastien, he thinks Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi and Leon “Nine” Kirilin are the top names in the EU region. Meanwhile, he also singled out Michael “miCKe” Vu.
“So Div 1 Europe, I am not taking my team into account. I think it’s either Miracle- (Nigma Galaxy) or Nine (Tundra Esports). Special mention to miCKe (Liquid). Maybe he deserves to be up there but I haven’t seen enough from him personally. Haven’t watched him closely enough so Miracle- and Nine,” he told.
For EEU, he listed the names of Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko and Team Spirit’s Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek. Ceb thinks both players have a higher placement compared to other midlaners from other regions.
As per SEA, the former OG named Karl “Karl” Matthew Baldovino and Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios, but Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer. He noted that three of these players are shining in today’s league.
For NA, the retired champ did not hesitate in naming Quinn “Quinn” Callahan as his favorite player. “I think my favorite’s Quinn in NA. I like Quinn a lot. Playstyle-wise, obviously Abed and Bryle are really strong players but I will give it to Quinn.” For SA, Jean Pierre “Chris Luck” Gonzales was listed as one of the best for his ‘reckless’ playstyle.
