MPL PH Releases New Rules; 1st, 3rd Seed to Choose Matches in Playoffs Round 1

MPL PH is finally ready for Season 9!

SEA’s strongest MLBB professional league, MPL Philippines, is officially scheduled to start on February 18.

Themed with Lakas Pinas, MPL PH has officially released its official rules for the upcoming season.

This time, top 1 and 3 of the playoffs will have the privilege to decide which teams are going to face each other in the first round.

“This season brings new rules for the eight teams to count home. The team to be ranked first will determine the placement of the third or fourth-ranked teams to be placed in either the first or second match, and the same will follow for subsequent ranked fifth or sixth positions as well,” read the organizers’ press release.

Aside from the teams’ privileges, changes in the coaching technicalities have also changed. Based on the new guidelines, teams are now eligible to have three assistant coaches or analysts. Although, only one is allowed to join the head coach during the drafting phase.

“Each team can have as many as three assistant coaches or analysts to support them; however, only one will help the head coach during the drafting phase. The rules were adjusted this season to raise the competition level and empower players.”

MPL PH Season 9 Schedule:

Duration:
– February 18 to April 10.

Weekly Schedule:
– Friday: 6PM onwards
– Saturday: 4PM onwards
– Sunday: 4PM onwards

Aside from the aforementioned changes, MPL PH will also be overhauling its rewards system for outstanding players. According to the organizers, ‘exciting awards also await promising players such as Rookie of the Season, Regular Season MVP, and Grand Final MVP,’ they told.
