Short but Sweet: Secret Takes Quick Playoffs Exit

The run was short but definitely sweet!

Acend is now the first team to secure a slot to the semifinals after taking down SEA’s favorite Team Secret.

In a clean manner, Acend sent the all-Filipino squad home, 2-0, who fought tooth-and-nail for their wins.

Acend also cleared the group stages easily after beating Vivo Keyd in a controversial win. Continuing their streak, the team also knocked Envy out to secure their playoffs spot.

Meanwhile, Team Secret fought against the odds in the group stages. Getting set up against Gambit for as early as their first game, Secret shook the stage after taking a clean win in game one.

The team’s luck, however, faded following the two games where Nats and his squad got their revenge in a reverse-sweep manner.

Following their heartbreaking first series, Secret managed to take a clean route towards the playoffs. After routing Crazy Racoons, and Team Vikings, both in 2-0 fashion, the team found themselves a playoffs seat.

Secret’s semis dream burnt down, however, after Acend swept the underdogs, 2-0.

Despite having an Icebox match in game one, Secret failed to replicate their Gambit performance and fell short 13-8.

With a huge task at hand, Secret hoped for a comeback in Breeze. Given the map being Acend’s pick, the team unsurpsingly took down the SEA squad with their dominant plays.

Taking a clean 2-0 series, Acend is now the first team to take a semi-finalist berth in the ongoing VCT Champions.
