Team Secret CEO: Sumail Not Carry; iceiceice? No comment

Team Secret CEO, John Yao, debunked rumors by saying Sumail “will not be Team Secret’s position 1 carry to start the next season”, and gave no further comments on whether iceiceice will join the Dota team or not. Will this mean that Sumail will join as a midlaner, with iceiceice following as offlaner?

After countless rumors of Sumail and iceiceice joining Team Secret, HYPRGAME had a chance to ask the team’s CEO, John Yao about this. Yao denied the rumors, and said:

“I can definitively say that Sumail will not be Team Secret’s position 1 carry to start the next season.”

When he was asked about iceiceice’s status, John had no comment on the matter. It can be inferred that this might be the confirmation of iceiceice’s entry into Team Secret as their offlaner, replacing zai.

However, with the Yao refuting Sumail joining Team Secret as their carry, it can be speculated that Sumail will instead be joining as their midlaner, replacing Nisha who will be leaving or converting into carry. Sumail has been seen spamming mid lane in the pubs since after TI10, so this speculation might hold some weight.
