Dota 2 experienced a drastic increase in October with 15% increase, which is an average of 450,000 players. Does this mean Dota 2 is not a dead game just yet?

Good news comes for Dota 2 players, after the game got an average player increase of 15%. Of course this happened because of The International 10 and also the release of a new hero from the anime Dota 2: Dragon’s Blood, which is Marci. The average player count that Dota 2 has now stands at an average of 450,000 players as of October 2021.

The peak number of players also increased at 752,000, almost 100,000 more when compared to the previous month. Many are of the opinion that Valve will definitely release a new event soon to maintain the momentum of the increase in the number of new players. Previously, there were several Reddit users who managed to dig up data on the Aghanim Labyrinth 2.0 event, which could potentially come out in November or December.

Not only the players, it seems that the audience of this game has also increased. Some players say that the average audience for Dota 2 games on Twitch has reached 50,000. This figure is about 20,000 more than the previous average audience of around 30,000. Hopefully Valve can use this Dota 2 mini-boom well so Dota 2 remains an alive game.
