Coach Duckey on MPL PH S8: ‘No Ban Strategy, Not Disrespectful’

Bren Esports’ coach Duckey explains ‘no ban strategy’ was a legit strategy.

Francis “Duckey” Glidro in an interview shared his thoughts regarding the recently concluded MPL Philippines Season 8.

According to the M2 champion coach, they will be focussing on improving the team’s performance for the next season. He said this after expressing his slight disappointment over his team’s poor MPL performance.

Aside from explaining his sentiments over the team’s recent performance, Duckey also explained his reasons behind the controversial ‘no ban strategy’.

The coach says the game was not important anyways. Duckey implied that the game was ‘nonbearing’ which makes it not a big deal at all.

“It was a nonbearing match, so I don’t think it was disrespect,” he said.

“All the players in that particular game were actually part of the roster. It’s just fair enough for them to actually play,” he added.

No Ban Strategy, an Intentional Move Says Duckey

Ironically however, Duckey also explained that the team not banning at all was a definite ‘strategy’. The coach insisted that the team played their game really well.

He added that the ‘no ban strategy’ was a famous move even in other MOBA games.

During a series between Blacklist and Bren in the recent MPL PH, Bren controversially did not ban any hero. This move drew backlash from fans saying that the organization was not respecting Blacklist at all.

However, Duckey clapped back saying that they acquired permission from officers before pushing with their strategy.
