Magnus has definitely become an iconic hero in Dota 2 after Team Spirit’s dark horse TI 10 story!

Team Spirit

In the recent The International, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov has shown godlike performance with his Magnus. The young player has completely destroyed strong teams including OG and PSG.LGD itself.

During the main stage, Collapse showed how OP the hero is after making plays which completely turned around losing scenarios for their team.

With his performance, many fans are now trying to emulate the same Magnus in their pub games.

Magnus Pick Rate, Cosmetics Price Changes: The Collapse Effect

The upsurge in Magnus’ pick rate is definitely remarkable considering that other heroes only have an 8.26% pick rate. Despite getting a boost on its pick rate, Magnus’ win rate percentage has remained flat at around 47%.

Aside from the pick rate, the sales of the hero’s cosmetics have also increased. Based on statistics, the prices of  Shock of the Anvil (Immortal) and Taunt: Mag Power! (Taunt) have also increased on Steam’s marketplace.

Over the past month, the items’ floor prices were around $1 USD which has now almost tripled to around $2.71 USD. The price of the taunt has also shockingly increased five times compared to its original price. The item was selling at the price of $0.15 USD over the last month and is now up for sale at $0.80. The current floor price of the taunt is now starting at $0.77 USD.

With Collapse’s TI performance, we can definitely relate the recent upsurges in Magnus’ pick rate to his name. The changes may now reasonable be called the “Collapse Effect”.
