The cycle began anew, long live the new king, Team Spirit, to the throne of The International 10!

Team Spirit TI 10

In full circle, CIS Dota returns to the top after 10 years of waiting, with Navi’s victory in TI1 being their last. The young players reignited the glory of CIS Dota by taking the Aegis, with 4 of them winning it in their first TI.

It is a cultural restart as China return to their rightful throne after 5 years of waiting, with Wings Gaming being the last to win in TI6. The spirit of Wings Gaming lives on as some of their players, Faith_bian and y’, are members of the TI6 winning squad.

The first match started with a very unconventional pick for both teams with Naga Carry for Team Spirit and Pangolier Mid for PSG.LGD. XinQ grabbed first blood for PSG.LGD, and Team Spirit managed to even out the game with Naga’s farming speed. Team Spirit wrestled control of the mid-game, but a great Roshpit fight in 23rd minute by PSG.LGD made the game even again. After a back and forth, Team Spirit grabbed the first game in the 38th minute with the score of PSG.LGD 5 – Team Spirit 17.

Second match went with more meta picks as PSG.LGD picked Leshrac for NothingToSay while Spirit selected Luna for Yatoro. TORONTOTOKYO drew the first blood in minute 4, and the game went back into PSG.LGD control after getting all of Team Spirit’s T1 towers in the first 11 minutes. PSG.LGD managed to sneak a rosh in the 18th minute, but lost it in 2 minutes after a beautiful fight with Collapse’s RP getting 2 heroes in the fight. Team Spirit slowly controlled the match and forced mistakes out of PSG.LGD, culminating in the first rax taken by Spirit in the 30th minute. A long fight broke out in the 40th minute with PSG.LGD getting teamwiped, and Spirit took the victory with the score of 24-8. Team Spirit leads 2-0.

With their backs against the wall in Game 3, PSG.LGD did some unorthodox picks such as Offlane Bloodseeker, and Spirit responded with Carry Phantom Assassin. Miposhka earned first blood with his Disruptor, and the early game went slow as neither team earn 10 kills in the first 10 minutes. Intense back and forth occurs during the 20th minutes of the game, and the first Roshan of the game got taken by PSG.LGD in the 27th minute. Ame’s Spectre used the Aegis to snowball and with NothingToSay’s Tinker managed to take the 3rd game with the score of 41-17 just before the 50th minute. PSG.LGD crawled back 2-1.

Draft of the fourth game went with another surprise as Team Spirit got Axe for Collapse while PSG.LGD grabbed the contested Magnus for Faith_bian. y’ in his Bane got the first blood before the rune spawned as both team clashes near the Radiant’s jungle. PSG.LGD dominated the laning phase, getting 8k networth advantage and an Aegis by 15th minute. The lead snowballed into getting 2 rax around the 20th minute, and Team Spirit appear helpless to resist as their heroes needed too much time to go online. Team Spirit tapped out before the 25th minute with the overwhelming score of PSG.LGD 23 – Team Spirit 2.

Game 5’s draft opened with the feared meta combo of Tiny-Lycan by PSG.LDG, while Spirit got their Magnus. Collapse performed at his best like usual and got the first blood. The game went slow with a lot of skirmishes and the first Roshan falls into Team Spirit’s hand in the 21st minute. With Collapse’s amazing Skewers, Team Spirit managed to breach high ground and get their first rax in the 30th minute. A huge fight broke out in the 33th minute, and PSG.LGD lost 3 heroes but they managed to hold Team Spirit off their throne. Ame’s Tiny felt the need to make a play, but instead, got caught out in the Roshpit without buyback. His death proved disastrous as Team Spirit immediately rushed Dire’s throne and brought the Aegis back to the home of CIS.
