Kpii is now exiting Team SMG after a brief run!

Kpii

Few days after winning OB.Moon Asia Arena, Team SMG is surprisingly entering a roster change!

The organization recently announced that its offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok is leaving the roster. Kpii remarkably stayed with the team for six months after joining in April 2021.

“TI marks the end of a season, and with that, we say thank you and farewell to @kpiidota. It’s been a fun run. If anyone could play on high ping and still won his lane, it’d be kpii,” SMG told in a tweet.

Kpii and Team SMG Part Ways

As of this writing, SMG’s roster stands with the following players:

Team SMG’s roster following this change is as follows:

  1. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng
  2. Kam “Moon” Boon Seng
  3. TBD
  4. Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan
  5. Roger “Roddgeee” Tan Boon Thye

Kpii and SMG have yet to disclose any details regarding their future plans.

Chok has had a surprise exit from TNC this year. The player has contributed massive accomplishments for the team during their run.

With the pandemic, and TNC’s lust for an all-Filipino roster, Kpii exited the team and joined SMG in April.

The team earned a top 2 ranking in the DPC season 2 followed by failures in other minor events.

Kpii, Gabbi, Armel

With their relatively new team, SMG placed at a disappointing 7-8 in the qualifiers. The team has only won their first title in OB.Moon Asian Arena which concluded last October 3.

Should Kpii join another SEA team? Notably, there are a lot of Southeast Asian organizations that are rebuilding. Will we be seeing a reunion between Gabbi, Armel, and Kpii anytime soon?
