PRIZE DELAYED: Mineski Owes PH Teams Prizes for 4 Wild Rift Tournaments

Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) organizer Mineski has not paid a single team from its four Wild Rift tournaments, multiple HYPRGAME sources said.

Mineski, the regional partner of Riot Games in the Philippines who hosted the Wild Rift Esports tournaments has not awarded the prizes to any Filipino team. This spans from all the four tournaments it held this year: the Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021: Preseason – Philippines, the Summer Icon Series, Summer Super Cup, and the Fall Icon Series.

According to an insider, Mineski is way behind in paying the prize money, and they haven’t said any word on when the teams are getting paid.

The insider also said that all the teams who participated in the four tournaments have not received anything from the organizers yet.

Mineski Global just received a whooping $10.6 million in a Series A funding round. Several venture capitalists participated in the said round.

This makes it even more unbelievable that the organization, who organized several events and promised a big prize pool, has not released their prizes yet. It also says a lot as to how it supports the Filipino esports organizations, especially the smaller ones that depend on the prize money to pay off their expenses.

HYPRGAME is open to comments and response from Mineski regarding this issue.
