Thailand Sweeps Philippines; To Represent SEA in IESF World Championship 2021

Team Thailand is now ready to represent SEA in IESF World Championship!

Team Thailand defeated Team Philippines to win the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Championship 2021: Southeast Asia (SEA). The Thai team has qualified for the global championship of the event by winning this tournament.

Thailand dominated the overall series resulting in a 2-0 series victory. Thailand cleared game 1 with 37-15 while the second game was won by a score of 30-13.

The champions began the IESF World Championship 2021: SEA with the best recent record compared to other teams. The team is mostly represented by players from Motivate.Trust Gaming with 4 players coming from the team.

Team Thailand’s full roster:

  2. Poomipat “Fearless” Trisiripanit
  3. Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee
  4. Worawit “Q” Mekchai
  5. Anurat “boombell” Praianun (also known as “Setzero”)

The team’s carry Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong is from Laos, he is ineligible to join the squad. KNP, a Thai player who plays for Trust’s Dota 2 organization, replaced JaCkky for the team.

Team Philippines, on the other hand, consists of players from UD Vessuwan. Argle “Ken” Llesis and Glenard Lei “Rupido” Rugay, both former Execration players are two of the team’s representatives.

Team Thailand and Team Philippines had finished first and second in their respective groups, securing a place in the grand finals. The Thai team proved to be the ace team after sweeping the Filipinos.

As of this writing, IESF has yet to decide on a date for the tournament due to the pandemic.
