Sadly, the most awaited Worlds 2021 will not feature any live audience.

League of Legends Worlds 2021 to be held in Iceland

The 2021 League of Legends World Championship will begin on October 5 in Iceland, Riot Games’ global esports division told.

This news follows last month’s announcement that the competition would be relocated from China to Europe because of COVID-19-related issues.

Riot conducted the League Mid-Season Invitational in Iceland earlier this year. After getting positive feedback, the firm made the deliberate decision to hold the whole World there as well. Worlds, like MSI, will not have a live audience due to safety concerns.

“Riot successfully hosted the Mid-Season Invitational this past May…without a live audience, which resulted in zero COVID-19 cases among players, staff, and partners,” LoL Esports told in an official announcement.

The Worlds 2021 play-in stage will begin on October 5, with the main event expected to begin on October 11. The League of Legends Worlds’ grand finals will happen on November 6.

The commencement date of LoL’s biggest tournamnt on October 5 is the earliest in the League World Championship’s history.

The festival has regularly started in the last week of September in recent years. Riot has stated that details on the grouping process as well as the full Worlds schedule would be released in the near future.
