The People’s Republic of China has recently restricted gamers aged under 18 to three hours per week.

According to their government, excessive gaming has become a growing addiction in their children or kid(s).

China has recently announced to the public this new rule last Monday. The announcement talked about addressing the country’s economy, including tech, education, and property.

The said restriction will go across mobile devices which caters to millions of gamers under 18.

The country’s young gamers are now allowed only to play for an hour a day. These kids’ gaming time will only be limited from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

“Teenagers are the future of our motherland,” the state’s news agency told.

“Protecting the physical and mental health of minors is related to the people’s vital interests and relates to the cultivation of the younger generation in the era of national rejuvenation,” they added.

Netizens meanwhile questioned how the new rule can be effective in its goals.

One netizen asked how the authorities will enforce the restrictions. “They will just use their parents’ logins, how can they control it?” the netizen raised.

As of this moment, it is still unclear as to how the government will go about with its new rules.
