This act of ‘kindness’ did not sit well for the Australian doctor and shared his two-cents on the act.

“I really don’t like this kind of video, to me it’s exploitation! Yes, the old man got some food but what did he lose? And what did Hungry Syrian gain? Hungry Syrian gained 2 million views, YouTube ad revenue ($3,000-6,000), fame, subscribers and hero status.” Adam wrote on his social media.

The doctor told that Hungry Syrian may have helped the old man, but he has destroyed his dignity.

“The old man gained some food but lost dignity,” he continued.

Adam continued to ‘school’ Manadil by saying that the does not need to film every time he helps others.

“If you want to help, HELP. But you don’t need to film it all and show everyone that you are helping. I see 40 patients a day, I help them but I don’t film it and show everyone,” he told.

Meanwhile, Basel did not take the allegations lightly as he returned the favor to Adam in his post.

On Facebook, the vlogger clapped back by accusing the Australian doctor of doing the same thing.

He told that Adam is using such ‘callout’ tricks to gain clout from netizens.

“What about you? You give lessons yeah, and then starts [sic] criticizing your fellow creators, you want fame also this way right? And oh earnings! Since the video you posted defaming me, you deleted it RIGHT AWAY HAHAHA because it has a song copyright strike,” the influencer told.

“You even mentioned you will fix it first before re-uploading it, meaning you care about the monetize (MONEY) of that video. SINO MAS MUKHANG PERA SA ATING DALAWA?” he accused.

In his response, the doctor uploaded a supposed letter for the Filipinos explaining the meaning of “poverty porn”.

Adam tweeted saying that poverty porn is actually a form of exploitation.

This exchange between two foreign influencers started after Nas Daily’s ‘exploitation’ issue in the country.
