Two-time TI champion Ceb has something to say about his new teammate, SumaiL.
Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and OG may have had the best run of their lives this year after fighting for their lives in TI 10 WEU qualifiers.
Debs and his team managed to snatch a ticket to Romania despite multiple changes in their roster.
Prior to acquiring SumaiL to the team, OG had to massive changes in their carry role.
Earlier this year, OG axed MidOne from their roster in an attempt to bring back their original player, Ana.
OG actually brought back ana just to make his retirement official after having just a few games.
Following these back-to-back changes, OG has yet again brought back a former core player, SumaiL after his run with Liquid.
In an interview, Ceb explained that SumaiL plays a big role to complete the team’s puzzle.
Ceb compared ana and SumaiL in his explanation.
“We had a very complicated year. There was a combination of unfavorable circumstances, but this is becoming a recurring pattern from which we must draw conclusions,” told the offlaner.
“The Covid crisis, the geographical situation of some of our players, the lack of stakes, the absence of The International in 2020, tournaments that follow one another and look the same… There was a loss of motivation, a crossing of the desert that we wanted to compensate with changes. They didn’t pay off. The difficult results created other problems: confidence, even burn-outs for some,” the player added.
“We tried to bring back ana (Anatham Pham), who was part of the winning adventures in 2018 and 2019 at TI), but it was more romantic than anything else… He was thinking about it, but he was wondering if he was able to give as much as he used to if he would get the desire back. We went to get him, we helped him make the decision and in retrospect, it was a mistake because it takes too much effort.” he clarified.
Currently, Ceb and his squad are on their way to defend their title in The International 10.
The team miraculously survived their TI qualifiers after beating Tundra Esports, 3-2, in the finals.
That said, everyone’s expecting the best out of the defending champs as they move to defend their title in Bucharest. TI 10 is set to proceed from 7th-17th Oct, 2021.
