VALORANT Mobile First to Drop in SEA

VALORANT is dropping Southeast Asia a treat!

In celebration of Valorant’s anniversary, Riot announced that they will be developing a mobile version of the game.

Riot General Manager Justin Hulog in an interview told that the company will drop the game first in Southeast Asia.

“In many ways, it does make sense to potentially go out in Southeast Asia first,” said Hulog. “But there are also unique challenges and very high expectations for how a game should perform on mobile. That could mean that we may look at other regions that are less demanding first.” told the general manager.

SEA as an Ideal Market for Mobile Games

Hulog added that it’s considering SEA first because of its mobile-centric community.

“Valorant Mobile is going to have a really big focus in Southeast Asia just because of the fact that it is a mobile-first region,” he told.

Despite his remarks, the company still to think on its strategy considering other variables in the game.

“But whether it comes first is a question that we need to weigh. One of the nice things about not going first is that it gives us time to work out the bugs.” Hulog added.

VALORANT’s Legacy

Since its inception, VALORANT has become the future of FPS, competing head-to-head with its father, CS:GO.

The manager noted that fans are becoming interested in the game’s lore. Hulog also told that fans became interested with the game because of its unique agents.

“Our most recent milestone is hitting the one-year anniversary, and getting to a point where we have a large and stable playerbase… We’ve seen 14 million active PC players and half a billion games played in the first year.” told Hulog.

Based on the very massive market for mobile players in the region, VALORANT Mobile will definitely pool huge number of players in.
