Jay Chou’s Fashion Label ‘Ignores’ COVID Protocols

Jay Chou’s issues started amidst Taiwan’s recent implementation of stricter protocols due to surge in COVID19 cases.

The rise of COVID cases in Taiwan has definitely damaged multiple businesses. Stars themselves were not spared of the effect as their business also took hit on the rise.

Businesses had to change their way of service in accordance to government protocols. However, a business owned by a star if found to be hard-headed with regard the rules.

Jay Chou’s employees in PHANTACi claimed that the bosses of the business were ignoring health protocols being implemented by the government.

According to the employees, the bosses were requiring all their employees to be at work all the time.

Additionally, employees also claim that they were being forced to attend work even on Saturdays and public holidays.

Should allegations be true, PHANTACi bosses might be found guilty of breaching government protocols.

PHANTACi director and co-founder Ric Chiang has responded on the issue where he told that allegations were false.

He emphasized that the company has already stopped employees from going to work since mid-May. Taiwan has implemented a Level 3 restriction on the said timeline.

The director also added that they have granted their employees paid leave since the restriction was leveled-up in the country.

In addition, Chiang also told that their offices opened only on May 24. He also emphasized that the business only resumed its store operations on June 3.

Chiang also told that the staff were segregated for their safety. Their travel to and from work were outside Taiwan’s rush hour, he told.

In relation to the Saturday and holiday work, the director debunked the issue saying that their employees were given a time off. This, he related to those who needed to work on a public holiday.

According to the Level 3 restrictions in Taiwan, employees are allowed to attend to work. This, notwithstanding the COVID19 guidelines where staggered shifts and working from home are recommended.

As of this moment, Jay Chou has yet to provide any comment regarding the details.
