Your iconic iKON idol is now an icon for illicit drugs!
South Korean media outlets confirmed that former iKON B.I is being indicted due to drug violations.
According to reports, Kim Han Bin 김한빈 (B.I) obtained illicit drugs, including marijuana and LSD from a certain “A”. According to reports, the source was an acquaintance of Kim who was identified as Han Seo Hee in 2016.
Authorities did a follow-up investigation on the 2016 case to gather more information from Seo Hee. After the issue blew up, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk allegedly threatened A to lie to the police regarding his testimony.
Hyun Suk faced charges due to his intervention. The case however did not prosper as Seo Hee reversed her testimony which eventually acquitted the CEO.
After the issue drew multiple media attention, B.I eventually admitted to his fans that he acquired drugs from Seo Hee. B.I eventually departed from iKON because of his drug addiction.
Han Bin eventually went back to being an artist 2 years after he left YG Entertainment. He returned as an artist under the management of 131LABEL, a subsidiary of IOK Company.
Earlier this June, the artist released his first solo album entitled “Waterfall” which backfired. Fans bashed the artist saying that he had no right to resume being an artist while his criminal cases are ongoing.
131LABEL released an official statement following the artist’s publicly known indictment. The company told its apologies to the public for releasing an album for B.I while he was facing charges.
The record label also explained that they pushed to release the album as all proceeds of which were going to the charity.
