Money definitely talks!

Cloud9 CEO dispels the rumor that sets TenZ's Valorant buyout at a massive $5 million

Just right after Sentinels won the first ever LAN event for Valorant in VCT Masters Two Reykjavik, the team had acquired the legendary star Tyson “TenZ” Ngo from Cloud9 in a buyout worth around seven figures according to reports.

The loan contract between Sentinels and C9 traces back to March where the player was loaned to Sentinels. The contract also included an option for Sentinels to buy out TenZ for an amount that Sentinels actually paid to acquire the player.

In the recently concluded VCT Masters Two Reykjavik, TenZ has proved his worth after topping the charts in both average combat scored and kill-death ratio.

TenZ officially joins Sentinels, 7 figure payday for Cloud9

TenZ was originally loaned to Sentinels right after their player Jay “Sinatraa” Won found himself in a legal trouble facing sexual harassment suits. TenZ was originally playing for C9’s active roster but eventually stepped down saying that he would be focusing on content creation instead.

Getting an opportunity to be back, TenZ got loaned to Sentinels and got the opportunity to win NA Masters One, the NA Challengers Finals for Stage Two, and VCT Masters Two, wins that he would have not possibly won if he stayed in C9 with its problematic roster.

Unexpectedly following Sentinels’ wins with TenZ, the team expressed their desire to keep the player in their active roster.

After winning in the VCT Masters Two, C9’s owner Jack Etienne tweeted a GIF together with the caption “money in the bank,” which expressed that TenZ putting up strong numbers in the tournament made his price even more expensive.

Although giving such tweet, Etienne also commented on a Reddit thread asking to put some context on the deal, specifically detailing that the deal was already done prior the Iceland tournament.

“Hey to give some context this deal was done before Iceland,” the CEO told, adding that despite the decision being a hard one, he chose to go with it saying that he had nothing but for TenZ to achieve his dreams.

“It was a dangerous deal for us as we knew we would soon face Sentinals in the Iceland Qualifiers, however it was important to Tyson to play and I wanted to make it happen for him. Best of luck to Tyson on Sentinals.” he told.

Whatever the actual price, TenZ is definitely a bang for the bucket given his godlike aim, and fearful playstyle. NA, watch out for Sentinels!
