WePlay to host First Ever Anime Themed Dota 2 Major

This is where Otaku exactly meets Dota 2!

Anime and Dota 2 fans, rejoice! WePlay is set to host the first ever anime-themed Dota 2 Major on June 2-13 Kyive, Ukraine.

The second Major of the year will feature a respectable $500,000 USD which will be 2700 DPC points, all will be fought on by top 18 teams around the world.

 “Becoming Hokage is the dream of many shinobi, so our goal is to become the most-watched tournament in the history of Dota 2 Majors,” told WePlay in their post advertising the said event.

The upcoming Major will consist of four teams each from Western Europe and China. Meanwhile, three teams each will come from Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe. Lastly, another two teams will come from North and South America respectively.

A wild card will also happen for six teams in a single round-robin where matches will be on a Best-of-2 manner.

The tournament will comprise of four teams each from Western Europe and China, as well as three teams each from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe and lastly, two teams each from North and South America. The Wild Card consists of six teams on a single round-robin format with matches being Best of 2. Only the top two teams will advance to the group stage, with others getting eliminated.

The Group Stage will be comprised of eight teams with a similar format to that of Wild Card. The top two teams will advance to the upper bracket playoffs and third to sixth-placed teams will compete in the lower bracket. Similar to other Majors, the playoffs will have Best of 3 matches and the Grand Final will feature Best of 5.

AniMajor will cause so much suspense as it will be a determining factor for most teams’ direct invite in the upcoming The International 10.
