Your Major second placer is the first to arrive in TI!
North America’s Evil Geniuses just locked themselves a seat in the upcoming The International after securing a win versus Undying, securing themselves a minimum placement of third in the currently ongoing 2021 Dota Pro Circuit’s North American regional league.
It seems that NA may have capitalized on the currently problematic EU region where rule changes, cheating, and all other issues are happening.
Evil Geniuses currently has 1,150 DPC points after earning 200 points from the ongoing regional league. Together with the points they earned in the recent Major, Evil Geniuses was able to meet the required DPC points to qualify for TI. Currently, EG stands undefeated with their 5-0.
In their current situation, Evil Geniuses may even sit out on the next Major and would still qualify for TI. The possibility is unlikely, however, as the team holds a tiebreaker privilege over Undying.
NA’s deciding game will be on May 16 as EG is set to face Quincy Crew. Said teams are undefeated in DPC Season 2, and the winner of the match will get a secured slot in the upcoming Major.
Win or lose, Evil Geniuses have already secured their tickets to Sweden for TI10 on August!
Aside from EG, teams such as Invictus Gaming, Virtus.Pro, and Team Secret are also expected to get direct invites for the TI10 in the conclusion of this season.
IG currently sits on a 1,000 DPC points. VP on the other hand is sitting on a 900 DPC points while Team Secret sits on 850. All these teams are just a few DPC points away from their direct invites.
The International 10 will be having 18 best of the best teams all over the world. 12 teams will be getting direct invites while the remaining teams will have to work hard in every regional leagues and earn their spot for the Dota 2’s biggest tournament
