Recently, Riot Games has made an announcement on their fanpage about the issue on their “privacy updates”. This move is done to implement a new denunciation system through audio data – voice chat. Riot will come up with an extra way to prevent the “toxic” problem in games. However, this announcement faced mixed opinions from the audience.

Although not yet allowed to perform voice recording on League of Legends or League of Legends: Wild Rift, Riot has not given up on including this feature in the two games mentioned above. Regardless of being a player of any game, in the future, you have to limit the toxic language on the chat channel, and also need to refrain from “swearing” or disdain players, teammates through voice chat.

This action makes many fans worry about their privacy being compromised. Some people say that they feel uncomfortable and feel like being watched.

Riot Games also admitted that voice recording would raise privacy concerns among gamers. That is also the reason why the father of League of Legends is implementing procedures to legalize this issue. At the same time, they also said they will not actively listen to the player’s recording.

Voice chats will only be tested if the player send toxic behavior report to the system. Only when players are reported, their recording files are unlocked to check the content, then they will make a decision on whether to sanction or not.

According to Riot Games, this feature will be tested on Valorant game first.
