2 Indonesian Teams Struggling in PEI 2021

The first day of the 2021 Peace Elite Asia Invitational (PEI) match took place on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. In the five matches that have been held that day, Bigetron RA and Geek Fam ID, as Indonesia’s representatives, still have trouble fighting their opponents from various countries.

During the first round, Bigetron RA was able to reach 4th position. Unfortunately in the following rounds, Zuxxy and his friends were overwhelmed until the rank dropped to 8th, 12th, then increased slightly to 11th until they stayed in that rank until the fifth round. However, their kill points and total points help them to get 5th position.

Geek Fam ID also had the same struggle. In the first round, they should accept the result of the match which got them in 8th place. In the following rounds, they couldn’t reach the top four position at all. Overall, they are in 11th place with 26 points.

The differences between the game that is used for competition and the invited teams at PEI 2021 can be obstacles for Indonesia’s representatives. The reason is that the used esports game is called Game for Peace, a Chinese rebranded version of PUBG Mobile. Not to mention the representatives of teams from China such as Team Weibo, Royal Never Give Up, and Huya FA who were very ferocious in five games. The three of them achieved top three. Team Weibo won first place with 99 total points on the first day and was able to occupy the 1st position in three matches.

This year, PEI 2021 was attended by nine countries, namely China (three teams), Indonesia (two teams), Thailand (two teams), Malaysia (two teams), Vietnam (two teams), Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, and South Korea. By dominating the three teams from China, it proves that they are superior with the advantages they have.

PEI 2021 event is still running for the next two days, until 29 April, 2021. With five matches at once in each day, two teams from Indonesia still have the opportunity to improve their results.
