PUBG Dev Rumored to Make ‘Not PUBG2 Game’

PUBG, a battle royale game that is popular among people, will have a follow-up which is rumored to be a work in progress. This time, the leak from PUBG studio is not about PUBG2, but an entire new game that is far from the battle royale genre.

This information is from PlayerIGN’s YouTube channel and his Twitter account. In some of the screenshots, we can see PUBG developers are looking for new workers to develop a game project called Vertical.

Vertical game project will be a sci-fi shooter open world game that runs on Unreal Engine 4. It is also explained that this project will contain elements of cyborgs, robots, monsters, mecha suits, tribes, villages and cities. The Vertical game project is targeted to be completed in two or three years. It is clear that Vertical game project is a PvE single player game.

This rumor is quite surprising, since the genre is quite unique. However, if Call of Duty manages to connect the zombie elements in it, it looks like PUBG will not miss doing the same thing either. Maybe it’s also time for the developers to make something that is more extraordinary than the previous game and not stagnant in just one genre. The sci-fi theme is also still in demand by many people.

Netizens speculate that it cannot be dismissed that this project is the upcoming PUBG 2. Take Overwatch for example, the sequel called Overwatch 2 turned into a PvE game. It could be that the Vertical is a new game code for PUBG 2.
