Na’Vi Ignores COVID-19 Protocols, Forced to Withdraw from Singapore Major

How relaxed can these players get during the pandemic?

Na’Vi has recently announced its withdrawal from the Singapore Major, a day before the tournament’s opening. The organization has cited COVID-19 as its main concern based from the team’s explanation posted on their social media.

Despite the explanation, rumors are now circulating online that the team slacked off during the pandemic and have gone nuts — going to public gyms, attending, and even hosting parties despite the virus circling around.

“I just don’t understand how hard can it be for a esport athlete to fucking quarantine for 2 weeks before 2nd biggest event in the year lol. Pathetic, so embarrassing” one Reddit user said.

Photos showed that Iceberg, one of the team’s players who tested positive, went out partying last week. One even showed a group photo of him and his friends outside with no social distancing, and no masks.

Another photo showed that the pro is in a bar with friends with no masks and did not follow social distancing.

Worst part in the story is that Iceberg attended Na’Vi’s bootcamps after he attended all these gatherings — a probable reason as to why Na’Vi withdrew from the competition as players may have already contracted the virus.

Dota 2 fans are now putting the blame on the organization itself saying that Na’Vi did not implement strict rules, and that it has allowed its players to freely socialize even though the team is up to compete in days for the Singapore Major.

“Navi is one of the biggest org in Dota, how can they allow their players to participate in a party shortly before a super important Major ?” one user said.

“It wasn’t. The word on the street is, NaVi players went to some birthday party & MSS kept going to the gym every day.”

The team has clearly neglected all protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. Instead, the team even tolerated irresponsible actions done by players which have endangered the whole roster. Not only that, the team’s irresponsibility has even taken it through the skies, literally, after allowing Ramzes666 to fly in to Singapore without giving him notice that the team is already withdrawing from the competition.

Whatever their reason is, no acceptable explanation could let the organization get away from its irresponsibility.
