LoL Legend Uzi Returns to Pro Play for the 3rd Time, Signs with EDG

Chinese powerhouse team EDward Gaming (EDG) has made a significant move by signing League of Legends legend Jian ‘Uzi’ Zihao, widely recognized as one of the best ADC players in professional play.

This signing comes amid a recent scandal involving EDG ADC Hu ‘Leave’ Hong-Chao, who Uzi is likely to replace in the roster.

By joining the current EDG lineup, Uzi will form one of the most formidable bot lanes in the world, alongside support Tian ‘Meiko’ Ye.

It remains uncertain whether Uzi will start every game throughout the LPL season, as lineup decisions are subject to the team’s strategy and performance.

In 2020, Uzi announced his retirement from professional gaming due to health concerns, including a diagnosis of type-2 diabetes and a decline in his mental state.

Despite attempting to improve his health, his doctor advised against continuing to play competitively due to potential complications.

However, in a surprising turn of events in 2021, Uzi made a comeback, joining Bilibili Gaming (BLG) as an AD player. During the 2022 Spring Split, he played only nine games with BLG, showcasing his determination to return to the competitive scene.

Now, with his signing to EDG, Uzi aims to reclaim his throne as one of the world’s top ADC players and contribute to the success of the team on their journey to victory.
