Benedict ‘Benkai’ Tan, a valued team member, has been benched for the event.
Benkai had been instrumental in Paper Rex’s success during the VCT Pacific season.
However, the team decided to prioritize roster stability and opted to have him on the bench for VCT Masters Tokyo. They recognized the need for consistency in the face of rapidly improving competition.
Additionally, Paper Rex is working to ensure Ilia ‘something’ Petrov’s participation in the early stages of the tournament.
Visa processing delays pose a potential hurdle, but the team is actively collaborating with authorities, including Riot Games, to expedite the travel document process.
The revised starting roster for the rest of the VCT 2023 season includes Jason ‘f0rsakeN’ Susanto, Jing Jie ‘Jinggg’ Wang, Aaron ‘mindfreak’ Leonhart, Khalish ‘d4v41’ Rusyaidee, and Ilia ‘something’ Petrov.
Patiphan ‘CGRS’ Posri will serve as a substitute.
